Tonse Alliance Vice Chairman, Professor Daniel Pule, has assured members of the Alliance that no constitutional changes or suspensions will be made until the return of the Alliance Chairman to Zambia.

In a media statement issued today, Professor Pule acknowledged recent tensions and “family differences” within the Tonse Alliance, which he attributed to the temporary absence of both himself and the Chairman. Following a discussion with the Chairman last evening, Pule outlined four clear directives to maintain stability and unity in the Alliance.

First, he stated that no attempts should be made to amend the Tonse Alliance Constitution until the Chairman is back in the country.

Second, he clarified that no member of the Alliance should be removed or suspended from their positions in the meantime. In particular, he emphasized that Dr. Chris Zumani Zimba remains a member in good standing and has not been removed or suspended.

Third, Pule urged unity and focus within the Alliance as it prepares for the 2026 General and Presidential Elections. He cautioned against the creation of parallel communication platforms, saying they only encourage division. “There should be only one Alliance leadership WhatsApp group, and all members of the Council of Leaders must revert to the original group,” he said.

Lastly, Professor Pule extended warm greetings from both himself and the Alliance Chairman to all Tonse Alliance members and the Zambian people. He reaffirmed their commitment to supporting President Edgar Chagwa Lungu (ECL), the Alliance’s 2026 Presidential candidate.

“God bless you all, God bless our beloved Zambia, God be with our beloved ECL, our winning 2026 Presidential Candidate,” concluded Pule.
