Development Over Politics: Sunday Chanda Underscores Development-First Approach in Kanchibiya
Kanchibiya Member of Parliament Sunday Chanda reiterated his steadfast commitment to advancing infrastructure development in the region. Collaborating with Hon. Charles Lubasi Milupi, Minister of Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development, Chanda announced the completion of two Acrow bridges at Aluni and Kaonda. These structures, the first of their kind since Zambia’s independence in 1964, mark a significant milestone in enhancing connectivity for Kanchibiya.
“These interactions may appear routine, but they have culminated in a historic achievement for Kanchibiya,” Chanda noted. He also disclosed that Hon. Milupi is set to visit the constituency to officially commission these landmark projects. Chanda attributed this success to the resolute backing of President Hakainde Hichilema and his administration, stating, “This accomplishment would not have been possible without the unwavering support of President Hakainde Hichilema and his administration. Twatotela!”
Vision for the Chambeshi-Chinkobo Road
In addition to the Acrow bridges, Chanda emphasized his ongoing advocacy for the comprehensive construction of the 77 km Chambeshi-Chinkobo Road. He highlighted that, despite prior temporary repairs, the road remains incomplete since independence. “This road is vital as an economic corridor for Kanchibiya’s livestock, fisheries, and agriculture sectors,” Chanda stated.
He reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring this project receives the attention it deserves, citing its potential to unlock economic opportunities and catalyze regional growth.
Collaboration Over Division
Responding to critics who question his engagement with the current administration, Chanda underscored the importance of prioritizing development over partisanship. “Some argue against working with the Government of the day, but for me and the people I represent, development takes precedence over politics,” he declared.
Chanda’s pragmatic approach highlights the necessity of unity and collaboration to achieve meaningful progress. “Our focus remains on delivering infrastructure, fostering opportunities, and transforming Kanchibiya through strategic partnerships with the Government,” he added.
A Future of Progress
Chanda concluded his message with a resolute statement: “Development is our agenda. Unity is our strength. Progress is our goal!” This guiding principle reflects his commitment to steering Kanchibiya towards a brighter future.
As the community anticipates the official handover of the Acrow bridges, there is renewed optimism about the region’s development prospects. Chanda’s vision and leadership underscore the transformative potential of setting aside political differences to prioritize the welfare of the people.
